A WELSH NATIVE ROYAL WEDDING WITH NO HAPPY ENDING FOR US TO REMEMBER ON 29 APRIL 2011 AS WELSH PATRIOTIC PROTEST CYMRIC CONSCIOUSNESS COMMEMORATION.

The marraige of Sir Edmund Mortimer and Catrin Glyndwr possibly took place at Sycarth or maybe not? No one knows for sure, what we do know for sure is that both Edmund and Catrin spent their last days at Castell Harlech where Edmund was to die of starvation due to the English having the Castle under siege. In 1409 the Castle fell to the English in 1409 and Catrin was taken to prison in the Tower of London where she was to die. Bueried at St Swithin's Church bombed in WWII blitz on London, a memorial garden replaced the Church and in recent years Embassy Glyndwr promoted a memorial to be placed there, in time so made possible by a Catrin Glyndwr Memorial Committee.

This would make a good location for present day patriots to hold a Patriots Commemoration as
alternative to the English Royal Wedding at Westminster on 29 April. As well with this Edmund
and Catrin in mind then Castell Harlech would be a good location for an alternative Welsh
Patriot event, why not a Patriotic Pageant reenactment of the marraige of Edmund and Catrin.

Other locations for Patriotic Alternatives that could be held on the 29 April with London in mind:

Marable Arch site of Tyburn Tree gallows where a number of Arwyr Glyndwr were executed might also be a location for smaller Commemorative Protest gathering, as laying of wreaths. There is also possibly worth considering as a Patriotic Protest gathering - a Vigil! could be held in area of Tower of London possibly near Church of St Olave where Rhys ap Gruffydd 'Last Prince of Wales' was said to have been buried after his execution.
See below taken from a post in Welsh Remembrancer blog:

Rhys ap Gruffydd was buried in St Olave's Church, Heart Street (Fenchurch Street) but I have found no grave site there, my researches continue. I am of course also prompting Memorial Plaque Initiative within or around the St Olave, anyone out there want to assist then do get in touch. Quite a bit has been written about Rhys ap Gruffydd, so you will find stuff on the web, I have also done a lot of digging myself and have come up with much new information about Rhys and the plot to make of him a Prince of Wales. I shall in due course add more to this post out of my research, in the mean time you may consider as the truth as to why Carlo has a ''Royal Residence'' in Dehuebarth and not Gwynedd is some how connected with the story of Rhys ap Gruffydd of Dinefwr and the native Royal Gwlad of Deheubarth. More to follow, soon I hope. In the mean time if any London Welsh Patriots can get down to St Olave on this coming4 Rhagfyr 2008, do lay floral or Ivy tributes in memory of Rhys ap Gruffydd - ''Last Prince of Wales?''.

Of course if things medieval and royal are not your bag, then there's always possibilty a protest waiting to be organised at Iolo Morgannwg Memorial on Primrose Hill, perefectly Republican in sentiment. So do consider and to help you consider above and possibly much more Anti - Weddig Action dip into the below blogs below:
