  3. North East Wales, not least Wrecsam being an hot bed of Jacobite Sympathies, why not have a 'Jacobite Eisteddfod Week' as a means of fun and fundraising for the lost Jacobite Cause. No! joking too late for that, for what ever cause you like but maybe some of the money could be donated for memorials in memory of Hugh Lloyd, Edward Morgan and other Welsh Jacobites worth commemorating. Whatever, apart from serious stuff have fun dressing up in fashions of the period, Jacobite music and dancing. The period is fantastic, full of Adventurers, Highwaymen, Pirates and Smugglers also 'women of ill repute'. for a week suspend disbelief and live the dream of a 'Jacobite Wales' with perhaps it's own pretender? see my 'althist' blog ASSYRIAN ROD, be adventurous. links below:

A similar WJS could do much good useful do some serious research on this subject. This period and in general Welsh History 1576 to 1776 is under explored and less understood so give it a break and lets focus on it much more. POLAND: BATTLE OF GRUNWALD 1410 - 2010 600th Anniversary. A Lesson for Wales, how to really organise a major commemoration.

.

Whilst I am getting my act together re getting this new blog up and on it's merry way, I endulge in your patience but give you the below which I hope will be of great interest. I doubt if again patriots will see again a major Welsh Medieval Commemorations as Cofiwn organised in 1982 to commemorate 1282 and, the likes of the very successful Embassy Glyndwr commemoration in 2004 to mark 600th anniversary of Senedd Glyndwr and the coronation of Owain Glyndwr there on 21 June 2004. Embassy Glyndwr with Cefn Caer 'Ty Glyndwr' and support of Canolfan Owain Glyndwr, Machynlleth have since organised a small annual Coron Glyndwr Ceremony in the town. There is in existence in the town a local made up working party planning to bring into existence a Gwyl Glyndwr as a major annual festival, if and when they do I am sure Embassy Glyndwr via their blog: Owain Glyndwr Communicates will keep you informed. See Link > Owain Glyndwr Communicates. - Owain Glyndwr Communicates. Promoting an interest in the history of Owain Glyndwr, the Welsh Son of Prophecy, his life, times and society and his great ...
.
However, do note there will be again this year a Coron Glyndwr Ceremony on 19 June 2010, do make effort to attend and support this and any other Gwyl Glyndwr events over the weekend to midsummer's day Monday 21 June. Further note that Embassy Glyndwr at present is also preparing and planning for a major all Wales national commemoration of the birth of Owain Glyndwr on 28 May 1354, 2014 of course being the 600th anniversary. To be kept further informed on all developments re G660, see E.G. Blog: GLYNDWR 660 coming on line soon. Other than above note that the Sleeping Giant Foundation holds a major Glyndwr Festival at Abercraf on and about 16 Medi Dydd Glyndwr, more than suprizingly Corwen does not bother to hold a commemoration, despite having a terrific Glyndwr statue to rally around and an huge Pavillion in which it would be possible to hold a number of celebratory events. C'mon Corwen get your act together!

Hopefully all that above will have many of you keen to get into some commemorative action in your own community or by assisting Embassy Glyndwr with their big G660 Plans for 2014. Not least note that later in year I shall be making public my plans for a major Welsh Medieval Festival in central Cymru, at moment given the working project title of 'Medieval Maelienydd'. If in mean time you are starved of some Welsh Medieval Action, do vist Cosmeston Medieval Village, Cardiff's 'Joust' and not least the Bodwyddelan Medieval Festival, unfortunatly the Amlwch Viking Festival has been postponed until 2011. But further note, but why not pobl Ynys Mon this year organising something to mark 410 AD the 1600 anniversary of the Romans leaving Britain, maybe a go CELTIC TRIBES FESTIVAL, ROMANS V CELTS FESTIVAL or maybe a DRUIDS REVENGE FESTIVAL, whatever you get my drift!
