POLAND: BATTLE OF GRUNWALD 1410 - 2010 600th Anniversary. A Lesson for Wales, how to really organise a major commemoration.

Whilst I am getting my act together re getting this new blog up and on it's merry way, I endulge in your patience but give you the below which I hope will be of great interest. I doubt if again patriots will see again a major Welsh Medieval Commemorations as Cofiwn organised in 1982 to commemorate 1282 and, the likes of the very successful Embassy Glyndwr commemoration in 2004 to mark 600th anniversary of Senedd Glyndwr and the coronation of Owain Glyndwr there on 21 June 2004. Embassy Glyndwr with Cefn Caer 'Ty Glyndwr' and support of Canolfan Owain Glyndwr, Machynlleth have since organised a small annual Coron Glyndwr Ceremony in the town. There is in existence in the town a local made up working party planning to bring into existence a Gwyl Glyndwr as a major annual festival, if and when they do I am sure Embassy Glyndwr via their blog: Owain Glyndwr Communicates will keep you informed. However, do note there will be again this year a Coron Glyndwr Ceremony on 19 June 2010, do make effort to attend and support this and any other Gwyl Glyndwr events over the weekend to midsummer's day Monday 21 June. Further note that Embassy Glyndwr at present is also preparing and planning for a major all Wales national commemoration of the birth of Owain Glyndwr on 28 May 1354, 2014 of course being the 600th anniversary. Other than above note that the Sleeping Giant Foundation holds a major Glyndwr Festival at Abercraf on and about 16 Medi Dydd Glyndwr, more than suprizingly Corwen does not bother to hold a commemoration, despite having a terrific Glyndwr statue to rally around and an huge Pavillion in which it would be possible to hold a number of celebratory events. C'mon Corwen get your act together!
