DAFYDD GAM WELSH TRAITOR EXTRAORDINAIRE and his capture by Owain Glyndwr along with ravaging of his estate of Petyn Gwyn 2012.

  1. 2012. IS THE 600th ANNIVERSARY OF OWAIN GLYNDWR's LAST KNOWN CAMPAIGN AND CAPTURE OF TRAITIOR DAFYDD GAM. 1412 was the year in which Tywysog Owain Glyndwr disappears from pages of history and enters into a world of popular folk lore and becomes a National Legend and the Iconic Inspirational National Hero we commemorate today. In 1412, Owain led one of the final successful raiding parties with his most faithful solders and cut through the Kings men, and consequently captured, and later ransomed, a leading Welsh supporter of King Henry V, Dafydd Gam ("Crooked David"), in an ambush in Brecon. This was the last time that Owain was seen alive by his enemies. As late as 1414, there were rumours that the Herefordshire-based Lollard leader, Sir John Oldcastle, was communicating with Owain and reinforcements were sent to the major castles in the north and south.
