AMEDEO GUILLET AN ITALIAN WW I OFFICER RIP b: 7 February 1909 - d: 18 June 2010 Aged 101.


Just been sent an obituary from The Times, so bit late in posting this up.
No connection to Wales as far as I know, other than my Uncle did his SWB National Service in Eritrea fighting 'Bandits' or as we would call them Eritrean Freedom Fighters. I worked with a young Eritrean Girl for a while in the Royal College of Art Kitichens in London. She had been brought up in a refugee camp in Libya and did she hate Ethiopians, oh yes she really did ethnically and racially which ever way, she hated Ethiopians full stop. Other wise such a pretty nice sweet girl! Anyway no apolagies for posting up above, I just find it a fascintating piece of history, amazing it certainly lays the lie that Italy has no War Heroes, this guy was more than just a good soldier but certainly give the 'Brits' the run around during WWI.
